Dr. Melissa Baird is a distinguished chiropractor, passionate about fostering well-being and making a positive impact on the lives of her patients. Holding a Bachelor of Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland (2006) and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic Davenport Campus (2010), Dr. Baird is a seasoned professional with a commitment to ongoing education serving an adverse population in her family practice with advanced training in pediatric and pregnancy care.
During her tenure at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Baird served as a Teaching Assistant for Gross Anatomy, contributing to the academic environment and aiding students in understanding the intricacies of anatomical studies. As a senior intern, she gained valuable hands-on experience in the outpatient clinic, refining her skills in collaboration with Clinic Doctors and assisting fellow students.
Dr. Baird joined CURAVITA Health Group as an Associate in 2010, and in 2021 was appointed as Clinical Lead at CURAVITA’s Glebe Clinic. In this role, and reporting to the CEO, Dr. Baird provides key leadership and management for the CURAVITA healthcare providers to develop and strengthen the Clinic’s collaborative framework.
Dr. Baird specializes in a variety of chiropractic techniques, such as Thompson, Diversified, Activator, Webster, and Gonstead, within her family-based practice. Emphasizing a diverse patient demographic, she caters to individuals of all ages, from infants and young children to athletes, government workers, and grandparents, addressing a wide range of presenting complaints. Dr. Baird’s dedication to excellence is evident in her continuous pursuit of specialized courses in adjusting technique, pediatric and pregnancy care. Additionally, she completed her Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) certification, bolstering her proficiency in advanced extremity work for comprehensive care. Driven by a commitment to staying updated on the latest evidence-based methodologies, she actively engages in ongoing education and participates in Research Review Services.
Becoming a chiropractor was a natural and fulfilling choice for Dr. Baird, driven by a genuine desire to help people lead healthier and more vibrant lives. Her career path was inspired by the belief that everyone deserves optimal well-being, not just relief from specific ailments. Dr. Baird’s holistic approach focuses on wellness and prevention, aligning with her philosophy of proactive health management. She understands the potential of chiropractic care in reducing pain, aiding in injury recovery and prevention, and managing pain without resorting to drugs or surgery.

Dr. Baird is actively involved in professional associations including the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) and the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA). She engages in volunteer work and holds leadership positions with organizations such as the Ottawa Board of Trade, where she serves on the SME Council (small and medium enterprises), and Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa, where she is part of the Women Build leadership team. Dr. Baird has been a previous Member and Chair of the Nomination Committee for the Businesswoman of the Year Awards (BYAs) with the Women’s Business Network (WBN) and was a previous member and chair of the Family Selection Committee with Habitat for Humanity.
Away from her practice, Dr. Baird’s world revolves around her two young children, Rosalie and Elodie, whom she adores. She and her husband, Mark, have embraced Ottawa as their home, enjoying shared activities with their family. Dr. Baird finds joy in painting, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), cycling and cross-country skiing.
