CURAVITA Health Group is pleased to welcome RMT Juan Salcedo to our Glebe Team!  Juan attended Oxford College, Burlington Campus and graduated in 2016. From 1994 to 2014, Juan worked as a Medical Doctor with a specialization in Physiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Caracas, Venezuela. Having this physical medicine and rehabilitation background, Juan considered Massage Therapy a great option to start his healthcare career in Canada in 2014.

Through the techniques and treatments utilized in Massage Therapy, Juan is passionate about helping patients achieve functionality, pain relief and a better quality of life.  Throughout his entire career, Juan has embraced a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Juan’s massage therapy skill-set and techniques include Swedish Massage, myofascial release, and cupping.  In addition, Juan is certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) – Vodder technique.

MLD is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that has a powerful effect on the body.  Research in Australia, Europe and North America has proven its efficacy as a stand-alone treatment and in combination with other therapies.  Developed in France in 1932 by Emil and Estrid Vodder, MLD has grown to be the most well known manual technique to assist lymph flow and aid in drainage of tissues.

Juan’s overall experience and knowledge converge in his practice as a Massage Therapist and Lymphedema Therapist, allowing him to better assess and treat soft tissue, joints and muscle disfunction towards complete rehabilitation.

When not at work, Juan enjoys listening to music, cooking, going for long walks, bowling, traveling and visiting new places and spending time with his family, especially when he cooks for them.
