Meet Melanie Giroux-Cook, RMT

October 29, 2019 | Massage, Meet the Team, What's New

Melanie is one of our RMTs at Curavita Glebe. She loves working with clients to help them achieve their individualized goals and improve their overall well-being. Melanie provides therapeutic treatments, but due to her calm, caring nature, she is also happy to provide relaxation treatments if that is what you are looking for. Melanie is bilingual and fluent in English and French.

She previously studied kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario then went on to complete her massage therapy training in Toronto at Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. Melanie has been working as an RMT in Ottawa since 2011 at a few different clinics and spas throughout the city. She was thrilled to join the team of highly skilled professionals at CURAVITA in January 2019.

Outside of work, Melanie likes to stay active. She grew up dancing and playing soccer both competitively and currently still enjoys both of these activities. She takes ballet and jazz classes and plays in a recreational soccer league, Ottawa Footy Sevens, throughout the year.

She also enjoys a variety of other sports and activities including running, hiking, kickboxing, volleyball, and tennis. She has been a member of the Ottawa Sports and Social Club over the years and regularly participates in the Ottawa Race Weekend running the 10km race.

Melanie also loves making time to travel abroad. She spent 1 year living in Toulouse, France, which gave her the opportunity to travel around Europe, including Italy, Spain, Croatia, and Greece. Her honeymoon was a 3 month trip of a lifetime road-tripping across New Zealand and backpacking around South East Asia. And another memorable trip was traveling through Chile and hiking in Patagonia completing the 8-day Torres del Paine circuit trek.

Melanie also loves spending time with her friends and family. She is a proud Aunt of two and mom of a 3-year-old rescue sheepadoodle pup.
