Meet Dr. Ken Brough, Chief Executive Officer
I am the CEO and a Chiropractor at CURAVITA Health Group. In 1994, I opened what was then named Glebe Chiropractic Clinic + Massage Therapy Centre, and in 2009 opened it’s sister-clinic, the Byward Chiropractic Clinic + Massage Therapy Centre. In January, 2019, our Clinics began operating under our new brand name, CURAVITA Health Group. In addition to the Chiropractic and Massage Therapy services we have proudly offered for over 26 years, we also expanded our scope of services to include Physiotherapy. Our expanded, multi-disciplinary and collaborative healthcare model allows us to continue to provide the excellence in patient care and services we are known for, with more options for our patients to meet their health and wellness needs.
What I value most about the work I do as CEO and a Chiropractor is the privilege to work with an incredible team of healthcare professionals and the honour to have great patients trust us with their care.
For over 15 years, I have been very involved in chiropractic professional association work, with positions that include being the Ontario Governor on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Chiropractic Association, and currently, the Chair Person of the Board of Directors for the Ontario Chiropractic Association.
Outside of work, I am an avid runner. I have participated in numerous half and full marathons in Ottawa, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Florida, and Las Vegas. My goal is to qualify for both the New York Marathon and Boston Marathon! When I run in Ottawa, I particularly enjoy running along the paths of the Ottawa River and Canal.
In addition to running, I also enjoy car racing. I have been involved in Motorsports for over 15 years progressing from Rotax karting to Honda Civics, to Super Production Racing. My next step to Spec Miata, will be a fair bit slower but very competitive. It’s a lot of fun, very technical, and challenging.
I love to travel with my wife as we both enjoy experiencing new cultures, art, wine and food. While the pandemic has halted our travel, we have been fortunate to create our own “stay-cations” with social distancing visits with family who live close to us, as well as enjoying time in the Niagara region and Essex County region to visit different wineries and vineyard restaurant patios.
In the evenings after a day of work and meetings, I enjoy watching Netflix, particularly political programs like The Circus, or movies that make me laugh, like Talladega Nights – I’m a huge Will Ferrell fan! I also enjoy cooking – primarily using my Instant Pot! My favourite things to make are soup and stews. The type of food I most enjoy eating is Italian – with Italy being one of my favourite countries to visit! In Ottawa, the restaurant where I truly feel the love of Italian food, sincere hospitality, and exceptional service is Giovanni’s on Preston Street in Little Italy.
